NEW PASSPORT RULES YOU NEED TO KNOW

Recently, the Ministry of External Affairs declared new rules for applying for a passport. And here we have rounded up some of the major changes that these new rules have bought in.
  • DOCUMENTATION FOR PROOF OF BIRTH
As per old rules, submission of a birth certificate was compulsory for all applicants born on or after 26th January 1989. But the new rules have bought in some relaxation in this regards. Now, any of the following documents containing the Date of Birth (DOB) of the applicant will suffice:
  • Birth Certificate (BC) issued by the Registrar of births and deaths or the Municipal Corporation or any other approved authority to register the birth of a child born in India
  • Transfer/school leaving/matriculation certificate issued by the school last attended/recognized educational board
  • PAN card
  • Aadhar card/E-aadhar
  • The copy of the service record of the applicant’s (of govt. servants) or the pay pension order (of retired govt. employees), duly attested/in-charge of the administration of the concerned ministry/certified by the officer/ department of the applicant
  • Driving license
  • Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC) issued by the Election Commission of India
  • A copy of policy bond issued by the public life insurance companies
  • DETAILS OF PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN:
In a welcome move, the new passport rules has done away with the mandate requiring names of both parents at the time of application. An applicant now only needs to provide the name of either one of the parents or the legal guardian. This makes it easier for children with single parents or orphans to apply for a passport. For spiritually oriented people like Sadhus/Sanyasis, there have provisions made for them to mention the name of their spiritual leader in place of their biological parents.
  • ANNEXES
The total number of annexes has been reduced from 15 to 9. Annexes A, C, D, E, J, and K have been eliminated and some of them have also been merged. Lesser annexes means less worry for people to collate documentation.
  • ATTESTATION
While all annexes needed attestation from a Notary/Executive Magistrate/First Class Judicial Magistrate previously, henceforth all these annexes can now be in the form of a self-declaration from the applicant on plain paper. This means no running around for attestation that one had to do previously.
  • MARRIED/DIVORCED PERSONS:
The need for a marriage certificate has been discontinued (along with annexure K). Also, in case of a divorce the applicant will not be required to provide the name of their spouse. This is another interesting change that has been made taking into consideration changing societal norms.
  • WORK RELATED URGENT PASSPORTS:In case of urgent passports, if a government employee is not able to procure the NOC (no objection certificate) or identity certificate from their employer’s side, they can submit a self-declaration stating that they have given a prior intimation letter to their employer informing that they are applying for an ordinary passport to a passport issuing authority.

Steps for making corrections online, in the Voter ID Card:
* First step is to – log on to the official website for voters, the NVSP (National Voters Services Portal) – http://www.nvsp.in
* Click on the section – “Correction of entries in electoral roll”
* From the new tab that opens, select “Form 8”. Voters will automatically be redirected to the page where request for the ‘voter card correction’ can be made.
* Following details need to be entered – Name, serial number, age, gender, state, part number of electoral roll, Assembly/Parliamentary Constituency to which the voter belongs, family details (name of mother/father/husband), complete address.
* If you already have a voter ID, submit details like issuing date, card number, state where it was issued.
* Once the details are entered, upload the required documents supporting the information mentioned, including the latest photograph, valid ID and an address proof.

रेलवे भर्ती बोर्ड (RRB) ने रेलवे ग्रुप डी 6297 के रिक्त पदों के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन स्वीकार करना शुरू कर दिया है. ग्रुप- डी पदों के लिए अधिसूचना के आवेदन शुल्क जमा करने की प्रक्रिया भी प्रारंभ हो गयी है. रेलवे भर्ती बोर्ड द्वारा सभी क्षेत्रों के लिए जारी की गयी अधिसूचना के अनुसार ऑनलाइन आवेदन करने के लिंक के साथ हम सेंट्रलाइज्ड एम्प्लॉयमेंट नोटिफिकेशन को डाउनलोड करने का लिंक भी यहाँ दे रहे हैं.

ऑफिशियल वेबसाइट पर दिए गए लिंक के माध्यम से उम्मीदवार को RRB के सभी अधिसूचित पदों के लिए ऑनलाइन आवेदन प्रस्तुत करना होगा.
उम्मीदवारों का चयन निम्न आधार पर किया जायेगा-

रेलवे भर्ती बोर्ड के वेबसाइट से डाउनलोड किये गये ई-कॉल लेटर में दिए गये तिथि, समय एवं स्थान पर सभी उम्मीदवारों को कंप्यूटर बेस्ड टेस्ट में शामिल होना पड़ेगा. ई-कॉल डाउनलोड करने से संबंधित सूचना उम्मीदवारों को वेबसाइट के माध्यम से एवं पर्सनल ईमेल के द्वारा दिए जारी किये जायेंगे.

कुल प्रश्नों की कुल संख्या- 100
उम्मीदवारों की श्रेणी के अनुसार योग्यता के लिए अंकों का प्रतिशत इस प्रकार निर्धारित किया गया है- अनारक्षित-40%, ओबीसी- 30%, एससी-30%, एसटी- 30 प्रतिशत. योग्य माने जाने के लिए निर्धारित इन प्रतिशत अंकों में से दिव्यांगों को 2% छूट दी जाएगी.
सभी प्रश्न बहुवैकल्पिक प्रकार के होंगे जिसमें इन विषयों से प्रश्न शामिल किये जायेंगे-

फिजिकल एफिसिएंसी टेस्ट (PET)
वैसे उम्मीदवार जो CBT में सफल घोषित किये जायेंगे उन्हें फिजिकल एफिसिएंसी टेस्ट (PET) के लिए बुलाया जायेगा. RRB द्वारा कुल घोषित किये गये रिक्तियों के 2 गुना उम्मीदवारों को फिजिकल एफिसिएंसी टेस्ट (PET) के लिए बुलाया जायेगा. वैसे यह पूरी तरह रेलवे के ऊपर है कि वे इस सम्बन्ध में अपने अनुसार संख्या बढ़ा घटा सकते हैं. उम्मीदवारों को फिजिकल एफिसिएंसी टेस्ट (PET) पास करना अनिवार्य है जो क्वालीफायिंग नेचर का होगा.

c) The letter shall have clearly mentioned information of the name of the post applying for, name of the candidate (exactly as mentioned in the form), DD No, Figure of the DD in Rupees, Date of DD and name of the bank.
d) The name of the candidate and post applied for shall be mentioned clearly on the cover.
e) Application without fees submitted through valid DD would not be considered.
5. Applications by post or any other means would not be taken.
6. Equivalent percentage to be filled in the form if the marks are not allotted in the percentage format as perthe rules of the University of Examination.
7. Knowledge of Computer is must. Preference would be given to candidate proficient in English and Gujarati.
8. Candidates have to submit the resume, 2 passport size photographs and self attested photocopies of all the relevant certificates/documents and bring the original certificates / documents for verification at the time of Interview.
9. For candidates of OBC and SC/ST category, it is must to send the scanned copy of the caste certificate with the above mentioned documents. Also, bring the self attested copy of the same for submission and the original for verification at the time of Interview.
10. The candidates employed in government would have to provide No Objection Certificate from his/her employer.
11. No transport or accommodation facilities would be provided by TCGL for interview. This should be done by candidate on his own expenses only
12. Any information provided in the Form, at any stage is found to be incorrect or mismatched due to any reasons, the candidate would not be allowed to appear for the interview even if shortlisted.
